random updates and thoughts..
ok..i realized that i have yet explain in detail my job here..i am now working in SeaWorld Orlando, in a restaurant called smokey creek.we sell really great BBQ ribs, babybacks, BBQ chicken, chicken tenders and beef and other sides. most o the times, i work on the hotline and drinks, occasionally, i do cold plates and cashier. most..erm..almost all of my colleagues are blacks. they are really fun and happening. they could sing out loud and even dance in the hotline, infront of the queue of costumers! there a lot of hugging and basically flirting in the workplace too..although it is not allowed, i think most of the places have..i am still trying to get use to it :P
erm..i work around 7-8 hrs per day, free lunch and free dinner~~i think i have gained some weight alr..cuz i ate fattening food everyday..omg..k..must control my diet!!!~~
went Miami this Monday and Tues..we rent a car and drove 10 hours to reach there! it was supposed to be a 4-5 hr journey, but we ot lost and traveled in the wrong direction for 1-2 hours..Miami has amazing beaches! and it is a great place to get tanned..i lay on the beach for like only 30 min and i can feel my skin burning~~
anyway, i am still working on my dialy journal, so the detail for the trip and everything in Orlando will be updated in the very near future (i promise i will get it done asap:P)
anyway, these past few weeks i got this strange feeling.. in singapore or china, it feels like if you donot do well in school or donot have a degree and get a good job, your life will be doomed.. but in here..i actually feel like it is ok to work in theme park for the rest of my life..and i feel that i will live just fine in that way..cuz there is really not as much pressure as there is in singapore and china..it feels like you can survive or live happily no matter what kind of job you do..it feels like there are so much more opportunities here..it is a really strange feeling, someting i've never felt before - it is ok to really just enjoy today and never worrying or even think about tomorrow..hmm..it is so complicated..

finally~
All right, finally got internet connection!! Managed to get an account number and a password from a very cute Thai guy who lived in NYC and was visiting his bro in Florida now :D okie, now I shall write out a rough summary of what happened in the past few days.
Day1: after being sent off by 11 friends, I set off to Taiwan on a Boeing 747 plane. The journey was overall comfortable – there was individual TV screen in front of all the seats with many choices of movies, music, games, shows, etc. I watched ‘the jumper’ at first, but fell asleep half way through. Later I watched ‘kang xi lai le’,’ xing guang da dao’, scrubs, CSI and many other variety shows and drama. The most torturous thing on a long flight is the back pain caused by unhealthy sleeping postures. My legs and my back were literally killing me during and after the flight. The pain is indescribable, you feel like stretching every 10 seconds. You really got to try it to understand the torment. For those who have never tried, I strongly encourage you to experience it for at least once, it is great for endurance training: D
My friend and I checked in at a transit hotel inside the airport because unlike Singaporeans, we cannot go outside the airport. However to my surprise, the hotel room was really big. There is a huge window with automatic curtains. Anyway, I tried to watch some TV, but could not find any interesting programs to watch, so we decided to sleep form 2pm to 630pm.
Some time in Day 2: When we got on the plane to LA, I was seating beside the window. I saw some amazing sight. It was midnight; twinkles of lights were all that I can see. When I looked down the window, orange and white sparkles filled the pitch black planes; it seemed like watching an amazing night sky at an unusually near distance.
The LA airport was under renovation, so the condition of the airport was quite bad. Almost half of the walk ways are blocked by construction signs, so all the guests were squeezed to the other half of unbelievably long hallway - _-b Atlanta airport is fine, but in my opinion, Florida airport is the best! Like Changi airport, we need to take a sky train to the luggage area. But strangely, the luggage area is open to the outside as well – people can just walk in from outside the airport to the luggage belts (unlike Changi, where there is a glass door separating the public from the belts.) this is so unsafe, isn’t it? …
My apartment is really big with 1 big living room, 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a kitchen, a laundry room and a balcony. Have I mention that there is housekeeping once per week? Haha…anyway, I’m living a room with 2 bedrooms with a year 3 FASS student. I got to know 6 other girls at the airport, and we are now some kind of a click :D we went to Universal Studio 22 of May..it was amazing. We took Jimmy Neutron ride (it rocks!!), watched Shreck 4D movie. We joined the Twister ride, it was so cool. They literally brought us into the tornado scene with cars flying, cows flying (yes, cows..), fire burning, street lamps falling..and they created a very believable tornado right in front of our eyes as well. It was soooo cool! We also attended the horror make up show where experts explained how to do makeup for horror movies in a funny way. The coolest ride got to be the Mummy ride. It is an indoor rollercoaster, and it is the craziest and fastest indoor rollercoaster I’ve ever took. the car will suddenly go backwards and then dash forward..it was great! We also took the E.T. ride – you actually need a ‘passport’ to E.T.’s planet to save E.T. and his friends. We ‘cycled’ to his planet and at the end of the ride E.T. will call out your name to thank you. Haha..so fun..
There are super a lot of cheap shops in Orlando. There are 2 huge outlet centre in here, one situated just a few bus stop away from my apartment. The one near my apartment has 110 shops, the bigger one has nearly 160 shops. With brands like Victoria’s secret, Addidas, Fossil, Vans, Forever 21, Banana Republics and many many others. All the goods are selling at super low price, Fossil watches are selling at 20+ 30 dollars, and I bought some Levi’s jeans for less than 30 bucks too. Yeah~~I think I will shop a lot here!!haha~
I started work on 24 of May. I am working 5 days per week, the number of working hours and the date of work varies every week. For now, I am serving drinks on a hot line. I think it is an easy job and quite fun as well. Haha..but sadly I do not get any tips..(Apparently it is the company policy..)so to earn more $$, I need to work extra shifts..
The people at my workplace are very nice. They are a lot of minors doing weekend shifts. O, and most..k, almost all of my colleagues are black. They are really nice but sometimes I cannot understand their accent..haha..need more time to get used to that..
Ok, I am writing this in a rush, cuz I wanna cook some food before I head to work :P
I will find another time to write more..yeah~
